Engage PR Expands Industry Analyst and Content Marketing Capabilities, Hires Chris Nicoll to Head Efforts

Oakland, Calif., May 25, 2016 — Engage PR, a leading San Francisco Bay Area-based public relations agency that has raised the visibility of some of Silicon Valley’s most successful companies in the cloud, mobile/telecom, analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT) markets, announced it has hired Chris Nicoll as vice president, strategy.

Content strategy and development has always been a part of Engage PR’s DNA and in the fast moving technology markets our clients compete in, marketing, positioning and message strategy is more important than ever before. Chris joining the team underscores our commitment to provide a full range of strategy, messaging, media and analyst and social media services for our clients.

The agency has developed strong relationships with leading AR firms over the past two decades. Recently, however, Engage PR has been receiving more requests from clients that need to boost their AR programs but have not been able to find people with the skills and experience needed to take this capability in house. The agency is also receiving more requests from clients that need support for writing whitepapers, case studies, contributed articles and other materials.

“Engage PR is known for AR, and we have a strong focus on content development, but Chris, with his extensive analyst experience and diverse vendor background, will make the whole agency even smarter,” said Jeannette Bitz, chief executive officer, Engage PR. “Adding Chris to our team allows us to expand our ability to offer our clients not only strategic guidance for their marketing and AR programs but also a wider variety of documents, including well-written case studies and white papers, as well as other services. In addition to understanding how analysts work, Chris will strengthen our support of our clients’ internal marketing and PR/AR teams. He’ll also help train and build out the Engage team, improve our knowledge of tech markets, sharpen our skills and expand our AR practice.”

Chris has been involved with telecoms technology and strategy for more than 30 years, joins Engage PR from Analysys Mason Group Ltd. He was practice head, networks and enterprise research at Analysys Mason and most recently served as principal analyst, Next Generation Wireless Technology with a focus on 4.5 and 5G wireless access technologies, mobile infrastructure and operator strategy. He has specific interests in the implementation of cloud technology across the network, connected car developments, and work related to 4.5G and 5G.

Before working at Engage PR and Analysys Mason, Chris was principal analyst at ACG Research and Nicoll Consulting. At Yankee Group, he was a member of the Yankee Group Research Council, helping drive the analytical agenda. At Current Analysis, Chris developed and grew the Telecom Infrastructure team and helped launch CA’s optical and wireless programs. As director of strategic marketing at Lucent and Alcatel-Lucent, he gained valuable global vendor and market insights that contributed to his recent work with leading operators and vendors in APAC and EMEA. Chris has also held marketing and network engineering positions at Netrix, Tymnet and Visual Networks.
