A Season of Giving

2021 was a year of positive and exciting developments in the tech industry and at Engage PR. We were fortunate to expand and grow internally and our client base as an agency. However, we recognize not everyone was as fortunate.

As the 2021 holidays approach, thousands of Californians remain jobless due to the pandemic. Unfortunately, that means more people in our very community can’t buy the food they need — a situation known as food insecurity. Food banks offer many individuals and families a crucial lifeline, offering free, nutritious food. Across the country, food banks such as the Alameda County Food Bank are racing to keep up with increased demand — but are grappling with the same rising food costs affecting the communities they serve.

Before the pandemic, 8.4 percent of people in Alameda County were considered being food insecure, according to Feeding America. The continuing economic fallout from the pandemic has increased to 10.9 percent of the population who could be on the brink of hunger. Despite some significant return to normalcy for much of the community, the need for food banks is still important.

In that vein, Engage PR is pleased to donate again to the Alameda County Food Bank on behalf of our valued clients, press, analyst, and other industry partners. We would appreciate it if you could also contribute to this great organization or other food banks in your region. To learn more or donate to the Alameda County Food Bank, click here.

2021 also kept the spotlight on the issues of diversity equity. The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Silicon Valley Chapter responded last year by creating the Diversity and Multicultural Scholarship, which assists and recognizes students for outstanding academic achievement and commitment to the practice of public relations. In 2021 PRSA Silicon Valley raised $50,000, doubling the diversity scholarship fundraising goal in 48 hours. Engage PR proudly was a part of that effort and, in 2022, will continue to work toward bringing more diversity to the PR industry: Read more here.

In this season of giving, it’s important to contribute to organizations and people in need. We hope you join in the spirit of giving and continue taking care of your community in 2022.

All of us at Engage PR look forward to continuing our partnership with you in the year ahead.

Best wishes,

The Engage PR team
